Tashijong Monastery: (3kms) where you could see the Tibetan Carpet Weaving factory, Thanka Paintings and wooden carvings. You could also meet the young incarnated Guruji.
 
Palampur: (11kms) Palampur, at 1219 meter is a quite un spoilt town, situated on a little plateau with the dramatic Neugal chasm of the Bundla stream cutting across at one edge, surrounded by green tea states with forests of pine and Deodhar on the higher slopes.
 
       
 
 
 
 
Sherabling Monastery : Originally located in Kham, Eastern Tibet, the Sherab Ling Monastery has been rebuild near the town of Bir, according to principles of the ancient science of geomancy.
Mcleodgunj, Upper Dharamsala : (65kms), often called little Lhasa, at 1,770m this is a residence of the Dalai Lama and this is a settlement of Tibetan Buddhist who sought refuge here in the year 1960 following their exile from Tibet.
 
       
 
 
 
 
 
 
St.John’s Church, (68kms), is located in the forest grove midway between Forsyth Ganj and Mcleodgunj.
 
Norbulingka Institute, Dharamshala : Norbulingka was established to preserve and teach the ancient Tibetan arts. The shady paths, wooden bridges, small streams tiny water falls make this place look like heaven. Here one can watch the wooden carvings and embroidery being done. The nunnery close to the institute is a place where women are taught the advanced levels of Buddhist philosophy.
 
       
 
 
       
 
Kangra Art Museum, Dharamshala : Kangra Valley’s arts crafts and artifacts dating back to the 5th century.
 
Triund: Triund is a popular picnic spot at an height of 2827 m. The area is on the foothills of Dhauladhar range and is 17-kms from Dharamsala.
 
 
 
 
 
 
       
 
Kangra Fort, Kangra : (55kms) the most important fort of the region has enclosed high ramparts with a parameter of about 4kms. Built about 1000 years ago on the confluence of the Banganga and Manjhi rivers.
Hang Gliding, Billiing: This takes place at Billing (35kms), A beacon for the hang gliders the world over. In the month of May / June a tented colony is set up and organized by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation to facilitate the hang gliders. This site is considered as one of the finest sites for hang gliding in the world.
 
       
 
 
 
       
 
Barot (1830m): 67-km by road from Taragarh, and covering 12-km by the haulage trolley, Barot packs an enormous range of outdoor activity. The reservoir of the power project is located here, and there is a Trout Breeding Centre, making it a wonderful place of angling.
 
Bir Monastery : From Dharamsala, our pilgrims went to Bir, staying all too briefly at Dirru Sakya Monastery, the seat of His Eminences Dungyud Tulku Rinpoche and Gyalsay Tulku Rinpoche. We were all deeply touched by the immense generosity of the monastery in their hospitality .
 
       
 
 
   
 
       
 
Masroor Rock temple: Fifteen richly carved monolithic rock temples sculpted in the splendid style of the Kailash temple at Ellora, and dating back to the 8th century are to be found at Masrur, just 15 km south of Kangra. Images of Ram , Sita and Lakshman can be found in the sanctum of the main temple.
 

Losel Doll Museum, Dharamshala : It displays minutely executed replicas of intricately crafted traditional costumes.

Beautifully crafted and minutely executed, the 140 characters in the Losel Doll Museum's collection depict regional, ritual, religious, official and theatrical costumes of Tibet and capture various aspects of Tibetan society. Barot: Across the river Uhl is the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary home of the ghoral, Himalayan black bear and a variety of pheasants. It is a 2.5 hours  scenic drive from Taragarh and on request we can provide packed lunch or tea for the guests.
Andretta Potteries: (17kms), You could visit Andretta the charming village, once the home of the famous painter Sardar Shobha Singh and playwright Norah Richards. You could actually see the works of Sardar Shobha Singh. It is now transferred into a center for varied artistic activities. Pottery lessons could be had here at cost.
 
       
 
   
 
 
 
Uttrala : 20 kms away you could visit Binwa Power Project site, a picturesque picnic spot with a water fall. It is a 45 minute scenic drive from Taragarh and on request we can provide packed lunch or tea for the guests.
